Let's Get Kraken with Scrapping For Less

Greetings friends and fellow crafters. LeeAnn here on my new blog and ready to get Kraken. using this great stamp set by Newton's Nook, and other supplies from Scrapping For Less, I had some fun crafty time putting this together for you to enjoy.

Nuvo Liquid Glue Gina K Amalgam Ink "Black"
Newton's Nook "Message In A Bottle" Stamp Set
Distress Oxide inks in Various Colors:Distress Oxides in Various Colors:
Broken China, Salty Ocean, Spiced Marmalade, Abandoned Coral, Squeezed Lemonade MFT Radiating Rays Stencil Lawn Fawn Shadow Box Ocean Dies

Using the Amalgam Ink I stamped out the images of the Kraken, Bottle and Scroll. Using my Scan n Cut I cut the images and then the bottle again from a card panel.

Using the water layers from the Shadowbox Ocean Set and stitched rectangle dies I cut the panel to the exact size I wanted and then started playing with my Oxides. First I used Salty Ocean and Broken China to blend on the bottom of the main panel, and the 3 water layers. I the varied with the Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade and Abandoned Coral to create the sunrise. Once satisfied with the blend, I grabbed my Radiating Rays Stencil and the Squeezed Lemonade again to get those rays just right. I used Nuvo liquid clue and adhered a panel of acetate to the inside of the top panel, I then adhered one of the water layers. I added some foam tape around the sides and put in some sequins from my stash. I had already added the scroll with the "Let's Get Kraken" sentiment to the panel of my cardbase, so that it would show through when the main panel was attached. Once the top panel was added to the base with the shaker intact, I was able to add the 2nd and 3rd water layers along with the Kraken in its rightful place among the waves. After adding a few water drops to activate the Oxides, my card was complete.
